Extra Credit Math Project

So your not quite getting the grade you would like in my class. Now is the time for a extra credit project that can give you an extra 20 points toward the final grading period of the year.

The assignment:
Do a project on a mathematician who shares your birthday. Here is a website that has mathematicians birthdays in a calendar format. Find the one you share a birthday with and do the following. If no mathematician is listed on your birthday pick the closest one. http://mathforum.org/~judyann/calendar/

Choose a format:
1. report in plastic cover
2. poster
3. scrapbook page
4. PowerPoint presentation

Required Content:
1. Your name, class, date, subject (mathematician), the dates the mathematician lived (This is your cover page).
2. Body of the report should contain the country where the mathematician lived, a summary of the major points in his/her life, and what they did to become famous. A minimum of 4 important points (Page 2)
3. A Picture of the mathematician. (Page 3)

Grading:
1. You will be graded on neatness, accuracy, originality, and completion of all the requirements.
